I’ve seen and read about them all over the blogesphere. The green monster smoothie (here’s a whole lot of info). The star ingredient of the drink is spinach or kale. Yes. I or you are not still drunk from last night. Apparently, when mixed with other delicious ingredients you can’t taste the green veggies. I’ve been intrigued by them for a while, a bit like changing a tire. I think I should know how to do it, it would be useful, good for me, but nope, it never happens.
Then the new trainer suggested them, and backed it up with science. I am a sucker for scientific proof, or just an argument with a few impressive science words through in. It’s something to do with restoring your body’s natural ph balance

After a week of shortbread, chocolate, appetizers for meals, booze and potatoes being the main vegetable, I decided to try one.
spinach, blueberries and a little ginger
first thing I noticed was my green monster is a little off colour. It’s more of an olive green hue, which frankly, is more my colour anyway.
Result … delicious.
I’m shocked. It was refreshing and with a double shot of rum and a little umbrella I would be having a party!
