WORKOUT: hill repeats – 45 minutes
I changed things up this week and went to the Tuesday night hill workout. It started a few weeks ago, but I hate hills so I have found other exciting things to prevent me from going like cleaning the crisper drawer in the fridge.
Last night I told people I was going, so I went. This works almost every time, good old irish guilt, I was raised on it.
It was a good workout. It was short, hard and strangely rewarding. But repetitive, I think I need to alternate it every other week.
Do you get warm when you run?
The last two runs I have done, I have spent more time and energy taking clothes off and putting them back on than I did running.
Sunday I wore a short sleeve, arm warmers and a long sleeve. The long sleeve was off and round my waist by mile 2, the arm warmers were on and off more times than Angelina and Brads relationship.
Last night after each hill I took something off, hat, gloves, neck warmer … and no one stuffed $$ in my thong … what with that?

I loathe hills. I always overheat. I finally figured out after all these years, it’s best to underdress.
I am SO HOT when I run!
. If it’s not below 30, I am in shorts and tank top. I freeze the first mile, but am comfy after that. I did a race in November, seriously EVERYONE was wearing gloves and hats and tights and I’m standing there in next to nothing. I don’t know why this is, because in every other situation I am freezing my ass off.
I’m constantly taking my gloves on and off on and off when I’m running. It’s annoying but my hands will get cold with them off and then too hot with them on. I just think I need new gloves – better material maybe..
ali, you’re hot ALL the time, duh.
and just so everyone knows, ali doesn’t actually wear a thong when she runs; she only wears them on first dates.
weather is fickle here in so. cal during the winter. with all the trail running it’ll be in the 30′s at the start of a run on a ridge and then drop 10 degrees when we hit the canyon. i usually do a short sleeve shirt with arm warmers and through a light zip fleece on over top and just zip for comfort. but, yes, i get hot and sweaty when i run and can usually just run in a singlet and arm warmers all the way down to the high 30′s.
in the dead of winter, all i have is my tank, and tank-like shirts. i get SOAKED within minutes. Of course, that could be pre-menopause too
I have that same problem this time of year – as soon as I take something off, I get cold, then I have to put it back on. One more reason to hate winter.
I wasn’t there.
It’s hard not to get hot when the minimum is 27C and the max 38C.
According to the morning show Brand and Ange are back on.
LOL, I do the same thing.. mostly with gloves. On, off, on, off.
Way to tackle those hills!
I always warm up real fast when running. They say that if you are warm when you walk out of the house you have put too many layers on.
Great job working the hills.
I hear ya…I warm up very fast when I run…even when it’s 2 degrees outside. But it’s not fair that you got no $$…damn this recession!
